This EXTRAORDINARY condition original paint 300SEL is an OUTLIER in that one does not find vintage Mercedes Benz cars in this condition and with the provenance this car has. The 168 pictures we have posted of this car does not reflect how extremely nice ,well preserved this example is. The interior still smells like they did on the Mercedes Benz showroom in 1988.EVERYTHING is crisp ,sharp, and still looks like a new car. The gauges are crisp ,clean ,and sharp .the dash has no cracks or warping. The wood trim is perfect and without flaw. The leather seats still have good color with full pleats and no sign of wear. The paint is original on every panel with not so much as a paint chip. Tires are fresh and deep in tread. The wheels still wear the original paint from factory and are flawless. Headliner is like new.... The undercarriage still looks like it just came off the showroom in 1988,clean,without flaw and never taken a dry ice treatment. The undercarriage shots tell the story of how well this car has been cared for.
The car has a great Carfax report with numerous service entries reflecting the extensive servicing. We also have the service receipts ,books, and manuals. The spare has never been out of the cradle and original tool roll is still in the original plastic bag from factory and never opened.
The run and drive is exactly as one would expect from a well serviced ,well preserved "BIG BENZ", very tight and responsive as only Mercedes Benz can do it.
