Maserati Mexico Prototype by Vignale , shown at Torino Autoshow 1965.

The Maserati was born as 5000GT in 1962 (only 34cars made)
Therefor it has a 103.. 22 chassis number. Vignale who created a 2+2 seater Prototype on the damaged 5000GT. John Surtees won that year 1965 the GrandPrix in Mexico on a Cooper Maserati. So the name "Mexico" for the Maserati was found. The first buyer was Mexican President Adolfo Lopez Mateos. History is readable under :wikipedia.

to the condition:
The car is sitting since 10 years, is looking straight and solid.
Doors and trunk open end close very good, gaps are correct.
The owner said engine does not turn. But he really did not try it seriousely. He put oil into the engine to preserve. Missing is the front bumper, rear bumper is installed but chrome is bad.
Interieur and dashboard are very nice, 2door panels in the trunk. The engine 4. 2 was built in 1968, is matching with the chassis. The original 4. 9 was built out for some reason and disappeard in U. K.
Glasses are perfect, floors are great, tail lights in the trunk.
The car was born red.
Correctness of this car is confirmed by Maserati. On the foto dashboard you see that car is different to series.
